Lyft in New York City is seeking a sharp, dynamic attorney with at least 5 years of litigation and counseling experience to align legal strategy with Lyft’s business goals at the intersection of law and technology. You’ll serve as a trusted advisor to multiple internal business partners and manage outside counsel to minimize legal risk.

Qualifications

• J.D. degree from a top law school and active state bar admission.
• 5+ years civil litigation experience at a mid/large firm or regulator; in-house preferred.
• Experience with regulatory disputes, government investigations, competition matters, and complex or consumer actions preferred.
• Strong problem-solving, strategic thinking, judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead a wide range of litigation matters and pre-litigation disputes, focusing on consumer litigation, regulatory disputes, government investigations, and competition.
• Proactively manage discovery, motion practice, witness preparation, settlements, and trial/appeal strategies.
• Advise internal business partners on litigation and regulatory matters and translate laws to Lyft products and services.
• Provide strategic recommendations to cross-functional teams on regulatory and other challenges.
• Manage outside counsel with budgeting, staffing, and alignment to Lyft’s broader legal strategy.
