Lyft is seeking a bright, energetic attorney with 5+ years of litigation experience to join our expanding Legal Team. The role emphasizes hands-on managing of personal injury matters and close collaboration with Claims, Risk, Safety, Policy, and Communications to solve novel challenges.

The successful candidate will provide pragmatic legal guidance, operate autonomously in a fast-paced environment, and oversee outside counsel with strong budgeting and staffing acumen.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of practicing law at a leading law firm or in-house.
• J.D. from a top-tier law school.
• Active member of a state bar in good standing.
• Experience advising technology clients preferred.
• Excellent problem-solving, judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on management of personal injury litigation, not just supervising outside counsel.
• Collaborate with Legal Team to craft litigation strategy supporting Lyft's business goals.
• Handle discovery, motions, witness prep, and trial/appellate planning.
• Interpret current law and regulations as they apply to Lyft's products and services.
• Manage outside counsel, including staffing, budgeting, and strategy alignment.
• Provide guidance to management on litigation issues and cross-functional legal advice.
• Maintain effective communication with insurers and third parties.
