Job summary

7-Eleven seeks an experienced litigation counsel to join its Irving, TX Legal team. You will manage a broad portfolio of litigation and pre-litigation matters nationwide, focusing on premises liability, personal injury, and general liability.

You will develop strategies, guide business leaders, and oversee outside counsel, e-discovery, and risk-mitigation initiatives in a fast-paced, retail environment.

Qualifications

• J.D. degree and active license to practice law.
• 5+ years of litigation experience, including high-volume portfolios.
• Strong background in premises liability, personal injury, general liability.
• Experience managing outside counsel and driving favorable business outcomes.
• Knowledge of litigation strategy, claims management, e-discovery, and risk mitigation.

Responsibilities

• Manage a high-volume portfolio of litigation and pre-litigation matters across jurisdictions.
• Develop and execute litigation strategies aligned with business objectives and risk tolerance.
• Direct and manage outside counsel, including case strategy, budgets, and spend.
• Provide legal guidance to business leaders on claims, investigations, dispute resolution, and risk management.
• Oversee e-discovery, including preservation, collection, review, and production of documents.
• Analyze litigation trends and claims data to identify emerging risks and proactive solutions.
• Develop and enhance litigation processes, reporting, and governance practices.
• Support compliance, policy development, training, and enterprise-wide risk reduction initiatives.
