Job summary

7-Eleven is seeking an experienced litigation attorney to join its Legal team at the Irving, TX Corporate Office. You will manage a substantial portfolio of litigation and pre-litigation matters across the United States and Canada, focusing on premises liability, personal injury and general liability, delivering practical, business-focused counsel.

You will partner with stakeholders, oversee outside counsel, direct case strategy and budgets, and lead e-discovery and data governance.

Qualifications

• JD required and active law license.
• 5+ years of litigation experience, including high-volume cases.
• Strong background in premises liability, personal injury or general liability.
• Proven ability to manage outside counsel and budgets.
• Experience advising retail/hospitality or consumer-facing organizations.
• Excellent judgment, communication, and project management.
• Familiar with litigation analytics and risk mitigation.

Position Summary

7-Eleven is seeking an highly accomplished, experienced litigation attorney to join its Legal team as a strategic business partner and trusted advisor. This role will manage a significant portfolio of litigation and pre-litigation matters across the United States and Canada, with a primary focus on premises liability, personal injury, and general liability claims. The successful candidate will provide practical, business-focused legal counsel, partner with cross-functional stakeholders, and help drive effective risk management strategies that support company objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee a high-volume portfolio of litigation and pre-litigation matters across multiple jurisdictions.
• Develop and execute litigation strategies in alignment with business objectives and risk tolerance.
• Direct and manage outside counsel, including case strategy, performance, budgets, and overall legal spend.
• Provide legal guidance to business leaders on claims, investigations, dispute resolution, and risk management issues.
• Oversee litigation support resources and manage all aspects of e-discovery, including preservation, collection, review, and production of documents.
• Analyze litigation trends and claims data to identify emerging risks and recommend proactive solutions
• Develop and enhance litigation processes, reporting, and governance practices to improve efficiency and consistency.
• Support compliance, policy development, training, and enterprise-wide risk reduction initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and active license to practice law.
• 5+ years of litigation experience, including management of complex or high-volume case portfolios.
• Strong background in premises liability, personal injury, general liability, or related litigation matters.
• Demonstrated success managing outside counsel and driving favorable business and legal outcomes.
• Knowledge of litigation strategy, claims management, e-discovery, and risk mitigation practices.
• Excellent legal judgment, communication, stakeholder management, and project management skills.
• Experience supporting large retail, restaurant, hospitality, franchise, or consumer-facing organizations.
• Familiarity with litigation analytics, reporting tools, and process improvement initiatives.
• A collaborative, business-oriented approach with the ability to influence stakeholders and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment
