Job summary

7-Eleven in Irving, TX seeks an experienced litigation attorney to join its Legal team as a strategic business partner. You will manage a significant portfolio of litigation and pre-litigation matters across the US and Canada, focusing on premises liability, personal injury, and general liability claims, offering practical, business‑oriented legal counsel.

You will lead cross‑functional collaboration, oversee outside counsel, drive risk management initiatives, and help shape litigation

Qualifications

• J.D. degree and active license to practice law.
• 5+ years of litigation experience in high-volume or complex matters.
• Experience supporting large retail, restaurant, hospitality, franchise, or consumer-facing organizations.

Responsibilities

• Manage a high-volume portfolio of litigation and pre-litigation matters across multiple jurisdictions.
• Develop and execute litigation strategies aligned with business objectives and risk tolerance.
• Direct and manage outside counsel, including case strategy, budgets, and overall legal spend.
• Provide legal guidance to business leaders on claims, investigations, dispute resolution, and risk management issues.
• Oversee e-discovery processes including preservation, collection, review, and production of documents.
• Analyze litigation trends and claims data to identify risks and propose proactive solutions.
• Develop and enhance litigation processes, reporting, and governance practices for efficiency and consistency.
• Support compliance, policy development, training, and enterprise-wide risk reduction initiatives.
