Job summary

Raytheon is seeking a Sr. Principal Linux Systems Administrator to lead a team in supporting classified programs at our Andover, MA site. You will manage Red Hat Enterprise Linux infrastructures and work with Cybersecurity to ensure compliance, while mentoring junior staff.

The role requires a DoD security clearance, US citizenship, and the ability to travel up to 10%. Onsite work is required, with potential relocation assistance for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in a related field with 5+ years (or 8+ years with a bachelor’s) of relevant experience.
• Advanced experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments.
• Experience mentoring both individuals and teams.
• Must be able to obtain DoD Directive 8140/8570 certification (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent).
• Ability to obtain interim U.S. government security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize Red Hat Enterprise Linux infrastructure, ensuring reliable IT operations.
• Act as a senior technical resource to maintain confidentiality, integrity, and availability of assigned IT systems and applications.
• Collaborate with Cybersecurity teams to maintain compliance and provide documentation, training, and guidance on advanced IT processes.
• Mentor and guide junior administrators across a broad range of responsibilities.
• Lead technical meetings with internal teams and program stakeholders, providing guidance and best practices.
