General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. is seeking a Senior Linux Systems Engineer to design, deploy, and optimize Linux server environments for USCENTCOM mission support. You will work across teams to ensure security, performance, and reliability of large-scale enterprise infrastructure.

The role requires Red Hat/CentOS administration expertise, DoD-compliant patching, and the ability to mentor junior staff in a fast-paced environment. On-site in Tampa, with enterprise-wide impact.

Qualifications

• DoW 8140 or DoW 8570 certification required.
• Minimum 5+ years of related experience in enterprise Linux environments.

Responsabilités

• Configure, deploy, and maintain Linux server environments (physical and virtual).
• Administer Red Hat and CentOS systems with a focus on stability and security.
• Manage Linux services (Apache, Nginx, DNS, DHCP, LDAP) and system health.
• Monitor performance and availability, proactively resolving issues.
• Apply patches, updates, and security hardening per DoD and policies.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, network, storage, and security teams.
• Document configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
• Produce reports on performance, trends, and improvement opportunities.
• Provide mentorship to junior administrators and support enterprise initiatives.
