Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. is seeking an NGDE Engineer to design and implement secure Linux/Unix solutions and Forcepoint TTC components from Annapolis Junction, MD or Sterling, VA. You will work on enterprise systems, apply vulnerability management, and provide expert security consulting.

The role requires a TS/SCI with Polygraph, DoD 8570 IAT Level II certifications, and at least 8 years of relevant IT experience. On‑site work with comprehensive benefits is offered.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in an IT‑related field or 8+ years of IT experience in lieu of a degree.
• Experience: 8+ years of related IT experience; hands‑on Linux/Unix administration and DoD vulnerability analysis.
• Technical Skills: Scripting with Python/PowerShell/Bash; VMware ESXi/vSphere; Citrix/VMware VDI architectures.
• Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI with Polygraph.
• Location: On Site in USA MD Annapolis Junction or VA Sterling.
• Travel: None.

Responsibilities

• Engineer and support UNIX/Linux servers, OS, and hardware integrations across Enterprise plan and TTC components.
• Perform system security engineering focused on Linux environments.
• Install, monitor, and tune Linux server OS and VM software.
• Capture and refine client requirements for system design and implementation.
• Provide expert technical consultation for system design including Cross Domain Solutions.
• Apply patch and vulnerability management best practices in Linux architectures.
• Develop and maintain configuration guides and system procedures.
• Ensure proper security controls and network/data separation.
