Job summary

tastytrade, Inc. is seeking a senior Linux engineer to own the systems layer of our production environment in a hybrid Chicago office. This hands-on role requires tackling incidents, designing scalable systems, and evaluating new software and architectures.

You will work on Linux performance, configuration management, containers, scripting, and networking while collaborating with engineers to ensure reliability and observability across our stack.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in a Linux systems, infrastructure, or SRE role.

Responsibilities

• Own Linux performance and tune for production load.
• Lead troubleshooting on hard problems with methodical Incidents handling.
• Write and maintain configuration management code.
• Run containerized workloads on Kubernetes or Nomad.
• Automate in Bash and Python.
• Operate core network services including DNS and DHCP.
• Manage virtualization across VMware, Xen, or KVM.
• Handle secrets with Vault and rotate credentials.
