Job summary

Ampere seeks a Senior Linux Systems Engineer to support diverse infrastructure across multiple Linux distributions, virtualization platforms, and HPC environments. The role demands 6+ years of hands-on Linux experience and strong automation skills.

Responsibilities include managing RHEL/Ubuntu/Rocky Linux servers, deploying KVM/XEN/VMware, designing storage using SAN/NAS, and building containerized apps with Docker/Kubernetes. Active mentoring and on-call duties are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Minimum 6 years of professional experience administering Linux systems (RHEL, Ubuntu, Rocky Linux).
• Strong expertise in virtualization technologies (KVM, XEN, VMware).
• Experience with storage technologies including SAN, NAS, and distributed file systems like Ceph.
• Proficiency with DevOps tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with HPC environments, job schedulers (Slurm, LFS), and parallel file systems (Lustre, GPFS) is desirable.
• Advanced scripting skills in Bash, Python, or similar languages.

• Participate in on-call rotation and respond to incidents.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Linux Systems Engineer with 6+ years of hands‑on experience to join our team and support our diverse infrastructure spanning multiple Linux distributions, virtualization platforms, container technologies, and high-performance computing environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux servers running RHEL, Ubuntu, and Rocky Linux.
• Deploy and administer virtualization platforms such as KVM, XEN, VMWare or similar hypervisors.

• Hands‑on experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with HPC environments, job schedulers (Slurm, LFS), and parallel file systems (Lustre, GPFS) is highly desirable.
• Advanced scripting skills in Bash, Python, or similar languages.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently and lead within a team environment.
• Strong communication and mentoring skills.

Preferred Certifications:

The pay range for this role is $120k- $130k per annum including any bonuses or variable pay.
