Job summary

Tech Mahindra is seeking a cloud database engineer to design, deploy, and optimize scalable cloud environments. The role requires RDS/Oracle expertise, AWS know-how, and strong collaboration in Agile teams.

You will architect IaC solutions, implement CI/CD pipelines, and ensure security and high availability across platforms. Responsibilities include database provisioning, performance tuning, and data migrations, with focus on cost efficiency and robust disaster recovery planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher degree is the minimum entry requirement.
• RDS/Oracle experience and database analysis.
• Cloud knowledge with AWS.
• HA/DR knowledge; Golden Gate a plus.
• Strong communication and team/ownership in agile environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable cloud environments using IaC.
• CI/CD pipelines to automate infrastructure provisioning and software deployment.
• Monitoring, alerting, and logging to optimize health and costs.
• Enforce least-privilege access controls and network segmentation; ensure data encryption.
• Database provisioning, tuning, and optimization for relational and NoSQL cloud services.
• Plan and execute cloud migration from on-premises or legacy systems.
• High availability and disaster recovery planning and implementation.

Job description

A Bachelor’s or Higher Degree is the minimum entry required for the position

• RDS Experience (DB Expert for Oracle/RDS, database anaylst)
• With Cloud knowledge (AWS)
• HA/DR (Knowledge with Golden Gate is a plus)
• Effective communicator and ability to work on a team/agile environment and take ownership over user stories/progress updates/help needed

Role Responsibilities:

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC):
• Design, build, and maintain scalable cloud environments using IaC frameworks (?[Terraform / CloudFormation / Bicep]?).
• CI/CD Automation: Build and manage deployment pipelines to automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and software deployment.
• Implement proactive monitoring, alerting, and logging systems to track system health, cost efficiency, and performance.
• Security & Compliance: Enforce least-privilege access controls (?[IAM]?), set up network segmentation (?[VPCs / Security Groups]?), and ensure data encryption at rest and in transit.
• Database Management & Optimization
• Database Provisioning: Deploy, configure, and maintain relational (?[SQL]?) and non-relational (?[NoSQL]?) cloud-managed database services.
• Performance Tuning: Monitor and optimize database performance, including query tuning, index management, and resource scaling.
• High Availability & DR: Implement robust backup strategies, replication, and disaster recovery (DR) plans to guarantee business continuity.
• Cloud Migration: Plan and execute data migration strategies from on-premises environments or legacy architectures to cloud-managed database platforms.

Technical Requirements / Qualifications:

• Cloud Platforms: 3+ years of hands-on experience with ?[AWS / Azure ]?, specifically core services like compute, networking (?[VPC / Subnets]?), and security.
• Database Expertise: * Proficiency in Relational Databases (e.g., ?[RDS / Oracle / Amazon Aurora ]?).
• Knowledge of Solumina DB Schemas & Integrations
• Deep understanding of database partitioning, replication, clustering, and caching strategies.
• Infrastructure asCode: Proven experience with ?[Terraform / CloudFormation]?.
• Scripting/Programming: Proficient in ?[Python / Bash / Go]?for automation and system tooling.
• Containerization: Experience with Docker and container orchestration platforms (?[Kubernetes / ECS / EKS]?).

The pay range for this role is $100,000 - $110,000*per annum including any bonuses or variable pay.
