Job summary

Bowhead seeks a Linux Systems Administrator to join our team in Dahlgren, VA. The Linux Administrator is responsible for system administration and customer support of servers and workstations in an RDT&E environment.

Must have 4–6 years of Linux administration experience, be proficient with HP and Dell hardware, and meet DoD 8570 IAT II criteria. A Top Secret clearance is required for this contract, with salary targeted at $100,000 to $105,000 annually.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of demonstrated Linux-based system administration experience.
• Strong Linux system management skills.
• Experience with HP and Dell hardware.
• Must meet DoD 8570 Cybersecurity Work Force criteria or IAT II at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical problem solving and in-depth consulting for system operations.
• Administer and manage servers, end-user workstations, and potentially clustered systems in unclassified and classified networks.
• Analyze, design, and implement modifications to system software to improve performance or fulfill needs.
• Assist with planning hardware acquisitions, policies, and vendor interactions; educate customers and collaborate with projects.
