Job summary

KBR is seeking a Senior Linux Systems Administrator with a focus on automation to join the National Security Solutions team in Maryland. You will design and maintain Linux-centric server architectures, automate provisioning and patching, and ensure compliance with DoD RMF and DISA STIGs.

The role requires a Top Secret clearance, 10+ years of experience, and hands-on expertise with RHEL, Ansible, VMware, and security tooling.

Qualifications

Active Top Secret clearance required.
Minimum 10 years as Systems Administrator/Engineer.
Technical Bachelor’s degree; degree substitution allowed with experience.
Deep knowledge of RHEL 7/8/9, LVM, systemd, firewalld, SELinux, Bash.
Hands-on Ansible playbooks, inventories, and automation workflows.
Experience with VMware vSphere/vCenter/vDS.
Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, optimize, and maintain enterprise Linux distributions across bare-metal and virtualized environments.
Develop, test, and maintain reusable Ansible playbooks, roles, and collections for provisioning and patching.
Support containerized workloads using Docker, Podman, and Kubernetes for deployment and lifecycle management.
Automate DISA STIGs and vulnerability remediation using ACAS/Nessus and related tooling.
Manage software repositories and image baselines with Red Hat Satellite/Foreman.
Administer virtualization and storage in a heterogeneous environment (VMware, Windows services).
Document SOPs, Ansible guides, and diagrams for team knowledge transfer.
