Job Responsibilities:

1. Install, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems, servers, and related hardware.
2. Monitor system performance and ensure reliability and availability.
3. Perform system updates, patches, and security configurations regularly.
4. Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
5. Automate routine tasks using shell scripts and other scripting languages.
6. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
7. Implement and maintain backup and recovery strategies.
8. Ensure compliance with security policies and procedures.
9. Collaborate with other IT team members on infrastructure projects.
10. Support hardware needs for Application and Development teams.
11. Build prototype systems for demonstration and testing.
12. Provide platform infrastructure support.
13. Maintain detailed inventory of Business Area automation.
14. Document network server configurations, application licensing, and third-party software.
15. Document system configurations, procedures, and changes.
16. Perform on-call support after hours as part of the rotation.

Required Skills:

1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or related field.
2. 10+ years proven experience as a Linux Administrator or similar role.
3. Deep knowledge of Linux OS (e.g., Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu).
4. Proficiency in scripting languages like Bash and Python.
5. Knowledge of network protocols and services (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
6. Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware.

Desired Skills:

1. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
2. Knowledge of configuration management tools like Puppet.
3. Experience setting up build machines and supporting software development.
4. Understanding of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, Singularity).
5. Knowledge of database management systems (MySQL, PostgreSQL).
