Job description

May 06, 2025 - Pairsoft is hiring a remote Senior IT System Administrator. Location: India.

Job Summary

The Senior System Administrator to work with our next generation platforms. The role is responsible for System Administration, Virtualization, cloud services, all type of server roles, Active Directory, design architectures, develop supporting documentation and migrate software applications to cloud computing environments.

Job Location: It's a remote job. You can work from anywhere in India.

Job Time: 08.00 AM to 05.00 PM (US EST Time Zone)

Responsibilities / Essential Functions

  • Hands-on expertise / Excellent knowledge in administering cloud services such as Amazon Web Services, VMware and/or Windows Azure
  • Address user tickets regarding hardware, software, and networking by conducting remote troubleshooting.
  • Test alternative pathways until you resolve an issue.
  • Perform hardware installations including cabinets/racks, shelves, power strips, cable management, and customer equipment (servers and network devices).
  • Perform basic troubleshooting on LAN, VPN Access, VoIP Systems, email systems, etc.
  • Upgrade BIOS and device firmware on the servers, Xen virtual machines, Linux and MS Security patches to all servers including service packs, and perform any other planned maintenance activities on an established cycle.
  • Work with other engineers and consultants to promote customer and user satisfaction and optimize data security .
  • Set up and maintain work stations and a small number of local servers.
  • Perform regularly reviews on hardware and software needs.
  • Perform users provisioning lifecycle tasks
  • Ensure follow-up, escalation and proper closure to end user service servers
  • Monitor and manage systems performance and capacity (Nagios, PRTG, CACTI).
  • Mentor Associate and mid-level System Administrator and be responsible for overall department work.
  • Perform all backups and recovery for the hosted environment.
  • Set up and maintain work stations and a small number of local servers.
  • Create and maintain an up to date documentation of network, systems and applications.
  • Create technical documentation and manuals.
  • Help in local hardware procurement by dealing with various vendors.

Requirements

  • B.E. (Information Technology) / B.E. (Computer Science) / M.C.A. / B.Tech (Information Technology) or related field
  • CCNA, MCSA, MCSE or any Certification related to System Administration
  • 5 + years’ experience in system administration
  • Fluent verbal and written English Communication Skills
  • Client Communication
  • A good Team Player
  • Highly motivated & self-driven with a proven ability to perform multi-tasking
  • Hands-on expertise on Git or similar source control management, security management
  • Excellent knowledge / Experience with Virtual Machines
  • Excellent knowledge in Scripting (PowerShell, VB Script, ShellScript)
  • Excellent knowledge in Windows Administration (Server & Client)
  • Excellent knowledge in Web Server Administration (Tomcat, IIS)
  • Backup Automation for VMs, Storage Using Scripting or tools
  • Experience on Active Directory, DNS & Networking Concepts
  • Excellent knowledge on creating & implementing SSL Certificates
