Job summary

HeroDevs, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Never-Ending Support (NES) team. You will research new NES products, backport CVEs to end-of-life runtimes, and deliver builds across many Linux distributions.

You will also build automation, maintain legacy build environments, and assist customers with compatibility and upgrade paths. Strong C/C++ skills and Linux packaging experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of language runtimes and server software internals.
• Ability to read and reason about unfamiliar low-level C/C++ code.
• Experience reviewing security patches for correctness and safety.
• Deep knowledge of Linux packaging and build tooling.

Responsibilities

• Research and prove out new NES products and stand up build pipelines.
• Backport CVE patches to end-of-life versions across languages.
• Deliver packages across multiple Linux distributions and arches.
• Build AI-assisted automation for patch analysis and triage.
• Maintain test harnesses to validate patch correctness and compatibility.
• Provide customer support on compatibility and upgrade paths.
