Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior II Software Engineer to analyze system performance and implement performance enhancements across virtualized and bare-metal platforms.

You will extend metrics, build tooling, and contribute to the deployment of new servers and hardware within a leading distributed network. You should have extensive C programming experience plus familiarity with Rust, Python, Bash, or Perl, and a deep understanding of the Linux kernel and system hardware interaction.

Qualifications

• 8 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree or its equivalent.
• Strong programming experience in C and one or more of Rust, Python, Bash, or Perl.
• Deep understanding of the Linux kernel, computer system architectures, and hardware/software interaction.

Responsibilities

• Analyzing system performance.
• Identifying, designing, and implementing performance enhancements and new features.
• Participating in introducing and productizing new servers and hardware.
• Extending metrics collection and creating visualizations to quantify performance.
• Building tooling to identify system performance problems faster.
