Job summary

Akamai is seeking a Senior II Software Engineer to join its Linux Performance team. You will analyze system performance, design and implement enhancements, and extend metrics and tooling to optimize the Akamai Intelligent Platform across thousands of servers.

You will work with C and other languages, explore virtualization and hardware enablement, and help bring up new servers while maintaining code quality and fast, reliable software delivery.

Qualifications

• 8 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• Experience with Linux kernel, system architectures, and software/hardware interaction.

• Analyzing system performance
• Identifying, designing, and implementing performance enhancements and new features
• Participating in the process of introducing and productizing new servers and hardware
• Extending metrics collection and creating visualizations to quantify systems performance
• Building tooling to help identify system performance problems faster
