Job summary

RTX is seeking a senior systems engineer to design, deploy, and maintain RHEL-based systems in production and development environments at our US-Government-facing facilities. You will implement OS hardening, security controls, and automated configuration workflows using Ansible and other IaC tools.

Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least eight years of experience, with the ability to obtain Interim Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field and minimum 8 years of experience.
• Hands-on experience with RHEL administration.
• Background in OS hardening, security baselines, and compliance frameworks (e.g., STIGs, CIS Benchmarks).
• The ability to obtain and maintain an Interim Secret U.S security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain RHEL-based systems in production and development environments.
• Implement OS hardening standards and security controls across Linux systems.
• Develop and maintain automated configuration workflows using Ansible or other IaC/CM tools.
• Write and maintain scripts to support system configuration, monitoring, and operational tasks.
• Apply systems engineering principles to requirements analysis, design documentation, verification, and lifecycle support.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across Linux/Windows hosts, networks, infrastructure services, and applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure system reliability, security, and scalability.
• Participate in technical reviews, architecture discussions, and design planning.
