Job summary

ASRC Federal Holding Company is seeking a Senior Linux System Administrator for a remote role supporting DoD missions via ASRC Federal's CECOM SETA

Responsibilities include administering RHEL environments in on-prem and AWS GovCloud, leading patching and hardening, and delivering ASIC software updates to deployed Army units.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of Linux experience, a Secret clearance, and strong scripting/automation skills with Ansible and Terraform.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline; 4 years of equivalent experience accepted.
• Active Secret clearance required or higher; TS/SCI strongly preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of Linux system administration with 3+ years in senior/lead capacity.
• DoD or federal setting experience with mission-critical Linux environments.
• RHEL in on-prem and cloud environments.
• Clear communication of risks and recommendations to technical and customer stakeholders.
• DoD 8570/8140 baseline certification required at hire or within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and harden enterprise RHEL across on-prem and AWS GovCloud.
• Operate high-availability Clusters (Pacemaker/Corosync) and load-balanced services.
• Lead patch management, hardening, and vulnerability remediation; coordinate across fleets.
• Support ASIC software delivery workflows and web-based deployments to Army units.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code using Ansible, Terraform, or equivalent.
• Write automation scripts (Bash, Python) for ops, monitoring, and reporting.
• Collaborate with security, network, and application teams for ATO activities.
• Mentor junior admins and drive architectural/lifecycle decisions.
