Job summary

TAP Engineering is seeking a System Administrator to support high-performance computing environments, spanning multi-vendor servers, storage, and networks. The role blends Linux/Unix administration with hands-on storage support in a complex technical setting.

The position requires active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph, DoD 8570 IAT II, a BS in a technical field, and 5+ years of related experience (10+ years without a degree).

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph (most recent within 7 years).
• DoD 8570 IAT II certification.
• Strong Linux/Unix system administration experience.
• Hands-on storage experience and OS install/upgrade skills.
• Working TCP/IP networking knowledge.
• Experience with Bash scripting and software installation.
• HPC architectures and Slurm/Salt/Ansible tooling familiarity.
• Proven troubleshooting and collaboration abilities.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Linux/Unix systems and storage.
• Monitor and troubleshoot servers, storage, network components, and HPC tech.
• Develop Bash scripts to automate tasks and optimize resources.
• Manage file systems, configs, and software in Linux environments.
• Collaborate with engineers to improve reliability and performance.
• Maintain technical documentation and communicate status to stakeholders.
