Job summary

10x Genomics, Inc. seeks a Linux systems administrator with strong data protection experience to join our IT team.

You will design, operate, and document enterprise and HPC compute and storage across hybrid on-premises and cloud environments to support multi-petabyte genomic data. You will enforce data integrity and security, manage backups and data lifecycle, participate in on-call rotations, and lead post-incident reviews to implement long-term preventative fixes in a growing HPC

Qualifications

• 5 years managing petabyte-scale storage and HPC data
• Experience with Linux distributions and AWS
• Scripting in Bash or Python; IaC tooling (Ansible/Terraform)

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, operate and document enterprise and HPC compute and storage across hybrid environments.
• Architect and maintain storage and compute clusters with configuration management and performance tuning.
• Manage off-site/cloud backups, archiving and data replication; ensure operational readiness of backup systems.
• Enforce data integrity, security compliance and automated monitoring across production storage and backup systems.
• Manage data lifecycle of corporate and research datasets; implement DLM policies.
• Participate in on-call rotation to support production environment.
• Lead post-incident reviews to identify root causes and preventative fixes.
