Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System seeks a Senior HPC Administrator for a secure HPC ecosystem supporting CMS and NIH data. You will oversee operation, security, governance, and compliance across a 30,000+ core cluster and 50+ PB storage, ensuring high-performance, auditable research computing services.

The role requires independent leadership, deep expertise in cybersecurity and regulatory controls, and effective collaboration with DTP Cybersecurity, GCO, and researchers.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive HPC systems administration in large Linux environments.
• Hands-on with schedulers, parallel file systems, configuration management, databases, web services.
• Strong cybersecurity practice in regulated environments (healthcare/government).
• Knowledge of NIST SP 800171/80053; ability to implement compliant HPC systems.
• Proficient in scripting and programming; able to lead complex initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Administer secure HPC infrastructure: compute, storage, networking, services.
• Manage authentication, monitoring, logging, performance tuning, reporting.
• Design secure network architectures; enforce access controls and encryption.
• Lead incident response, audits, and regulatory compliance.
• Provide after-hours support and user-facing documentation.
