Job summary

Akina, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer 3 in Annapolis Junction, MD, to analyze requirements, lead design activities, and provide technical leadership for DoD systems engineering efforts. The role requires TS/SCI clearance and experience with Linux, Python, and Ansible.

Responsibilities include developing system architecture and documentation, coordinating cross-discipline work, and ensuring compliance with DoDAF/SOA architectures throughout the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience administering Linux systems, including proficiency with command-line tooling.
• Ability to develop automation scripts using Bash and Python.
• Experience installing, configuring, and supporting COTS/GOTS/FOSS software across large-scale Linux cluster environments.
• Familiarity with the Agency's STE/STN security compliance requirements and the ability to ensure systems adhere to established policies.
• Broad technical understanding of server components, including compute, storage arrays, network fabrics, memory architectures, and database technologies.
• Working knowledge of IaC concepts and experience using automation tooling such as SaltStack and Ansible.
• Hands-on knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker, Podman, and containerd.
• Familiarity with Oracle OLVM and its use in managing and operating virtualized Linux environments.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes requirements and documents to develop system requirements specifications.
• Leads design and development activities.
• Provides technical leadership for integration of requirements, design, and technology.
• Develops system Architecture and design documentation.
• Plans and executes system engineering management plans and test plans.
• Interacts with Government for technical considerations and issues.
• Manages requirements to ensure production systems align with architecture(s).
• Develops sections of system engineering documentation like System Engineering Plans and Requirements specifications.
• Coordinate resolution of actions from reviews and meetings.
• Participates in an Integrated Product Team to design new capabilities.
