Job summary

SKY Group seeks an experienced Senior Linux & Database Infrastructure Engineer to design, manage, optimize, and support enterprise-grade infrastructure environments in Egypt. The role focuses on Linux administration, database management (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB), cloud services, containerization, automation, and production troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in infrastructure engineering, Linux administration, or related roles.
• Strong expertise in Linux operating systems including Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Ubuntu.
• Extensive experience administering Oracle Database, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MariaDB.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Infrastructure automation experience using Ansible and Terraform.
• Experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Strong experience with monitoring: Prometheus and Grafana.
• Experience implementing High Availability architectures and DR strategies.
• Knowledge of infrastructure security, hardening, and risk mitigation.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, administer, and maintain enterprise Linux environments.
• Manage and optimize Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MariaDB database platforms.
• Monitor and improve infrastructure performance, reliability, and security.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production infrastructure and database issues.
• Design and support highly available infrastructure and database solutions.
• Implement backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies.
• Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using Ansible and Terraform.
• Support cloud-based infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Implement and maintain infrastructure monitoring and observability solutions.
• Configure and manage Prometheus and Grafana monitoring platforms.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to optimize system performance.
• Ensure infrastructure compliance with security standards and best practices.
• Maintain infrastructure documentation, operational procedures, and technical standards.
