Job summary

Everforth Apex is seeking a Linux System Administrator in Plano, TX, offering a hybrid schedule with on-site presence required. The role focuses on operating Oracle Enterprise Linux, building reliable infrastructure, and driving SRE practices across HA, automation, and monitoring.

You will mentor teams and help ensure secure, scalable systems. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in enterprise Linux, strong scripting skills in Bash/Python, and hands-on experience with Ansible and incident

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Linux system administration in enterprise environments.
• Strong expertise in Oracle Enterprise Linux (OEL) systems.
• Proven experience in high availability systems, virtualization, and storage management.
• Hands-on experience with automation and configuration management tools, with a preference for Ansible.
• Proficiency in at least one scripting language, with a preference for Bash or Python.
• Experience with infrastructure troubleshooting, performance tuning, and incident management.
• Solid understanding of enterprise infrastructure, including compute, storage, and network.

Responsibilities

• Lead the administration, monitoring, and performance tuning of Oracle Enterprise Linux (OEL) environments.
• Oversee the design, build, and lifecycle management of Linux servers, including storage and virtualization.
• Manage high availability (HA) configurations, clustering, and load-balanced environments.
• Define and implement SRE principles, including SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets.
• Lead initiatives for infrastructure automation using tools such as Ansible.
• Install, configure, and maintain OEL operating systems and related software.
• Manage Logical Volume Manager (LVM) configurations and distributed file systems.
• Implement and enhance monitoring, alerting, and observability frameworks.
• Lead incident response, root cause analysis (RCA), and postmortem reviews.
• Ensure systems are secure, hardened, and compliant with enterprise security standards.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to infrastructure teams.
