Job description

Edith's is hiring a Lead Line Cook/Kitchen Manager who is eager to work with a small, dynamic, and dedicated team. If you thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment and enjoy preparing sandwiches, this could be the perfect opportunity for you! This leadership role requires collaboration and coaching skills to guide the culinary team effectively.

Qualifications:
  1. Mandatory Food Handlers Certificate that meets local requirements
  2. Highly developed sense of urgency
  3. 2+ years of progressive kitchen management experience
  4. Strong leadership and communication skills
  5. Driven to provide outstanding food and hospitality
  6. Ability to manage food and labor costs effectively
  7. Proficient in high-volume egg cookery
  8. Experience with various cooking styles and techniques
  9. Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift 50+ pounds, and work in hot and cold conditions
  10. Communication skills - Spanish is a plus; English is mandatory
Responsibilities:
  1. Flexibility to work at any station in the restaurant, including prep, expo, cold stations, pasta, deck, oven, and new stations as they are created
  2. Set standards for safe work habits and DOH compliance, including preparing the kitchen for inspections and managing staff during inspections
  3. Expedite 75-100 orders per hour during weekends
  4. Help meet company objectives related to sales, standards, quality, appearance, and sanitation through staff training and creating a positive working environment
  5. Maintain clear and consistent communication to ensure smooth daily service
  6. Develop staff professionally through training, managing checklists, and logs
  7. Enforce high-quality food standards
  8. Mentor newer team members
