Job summary

You will drive analytics usage, pilot new underwriting technologies, and coach teams to adopt digital tools while maintaining regulatory and ethical standards across all decisions.

Qualifications

• Extensive life underwriting expertise; authority on complex, high-value cases.
• Minimum 5 years life underwriting with team leadership experience.
• Experience with automated underwriting platforms and quality control.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert judgment on highly complex and escalated cases; manage facultative referrals.
• Oversee complex adjudication during peak volumes; promote analytics and modern platforms.
• Lead and develop a team of underwriters; ensure SLAs and quality.
• Leverage analytics dashboards to monitor mortality, placement, cycle time and referrals.
• Pilot and validate new underwriting technologies; document business cases.
• Coach underwriters to enhance analytical thinking and digital tool usage.
• Negotiate appeals using professional judgment and industry knowledge.
• Communicate decisions effectively to field force and home office.
