Qualifications

• Extensive life underwriting expertise with authority on complex, high-value cases.
• Minimum 5 years of life underwriting experience, with leadership demonstrated.
• Experience with automated underwriting platforms and quality control.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert judgment on highly complex and escalated cases and manage facultative referrals.
• Oversee complex case adjudication during peak volumes; ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Lead and develop a team of underwriters, set daily priorities, ensure SLAs.
• Leverage analytics dashboards to monitor mortality, placement, cycle time, and referrals; drive improvements.
• Pilot and validate underwriting technologies; document business cases and outcomes.
• Coach and upskill underwriters in analytics, digital tools, and customer focus.
• Negotiate appeals using professional judgment and industry knowledge to go beyond guidelines when needed.
