Qualifications

• 5+ years of life underwriting experience with demonstrated competence handling larger face amount cases.
• Required approval authority up to $5,000,000.
• Life Insurance underwriting experience required or strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite complex formal applications and informal quotes within approval authority guidelines.
• Analyze complex information to reach medical and financial assessments per guidelines.
• Effectively manage change, defuse conflict and negotiate positive results.
• Take a cross-functional view of work processes and understand implications for other areas.
• Be organized and manage a large caseload.
• Demonstrate superior underwriting knowledge and skills.
• Provide training to internal and external customers on underwriting topics.
• Interact independently with a sophisticated field force dealing with an upscale market.
