Job summary

Travelers is seeking an Account Executive Officer (Technology Life Sciences) in Colorado to partner with brokers, assess complex risk, and sell tailored coverage. The role combines underwriting expertise with strategic relationship management to drive profitability and growth.

The successful candidate will have 6–8 years of underwriting experience in life sciences, a CPCU designation, and strong negotiation skills, with the ability to travel for in-person meetings.

Qualifications

• Six to eight years of underwriting experience in life sciences or related sectors.
• Strong critical thinking and analytical abilities for risk assessment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication for negotiations with agents/brokers.
• CPCU designation is preferred and valuable for this role.

Responsibilities

• Manage profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned book of business.
• Underwrite and negotiate complex accounts to balance risk and profitability.
• Cultivate relationships with internal partners to develop sales plans and identify cross-selling opportunities.
• Meet with external partners to market Travelers products and write/retain accounts within risk appetite.
• Identify new business opportunities using consultative marketing and sales skills.
• Develop and execute agency sales plans with the Managing Director to extend regional coverage.
• Mentor less experienced Account Executives as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
