Job summary

Harmony Senior Services in Elkhart, Indiana is seeking a Life Enrichment Activities Assistant to support the Life Enrichment Director in designing, facilitating, and implementing a wide range of recreational and educational programs for Independent Living and Assisted Living residents.

You will lead 6-7 programs daily, survey residents to tailor activities, coordinate with the program team, build relationships with residents and families, and assist with transportation and outings while

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and/or experience; entry level with 1-3 years desired.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Flexible, imaginative, engaging and passionate about working with seniors.
• Experience organizing, conducting, and planning programs and activities.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Able to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Able to sit, stand, bend, kneel, walk and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Design, create, initiate, facilitate, and implement diverse wellness-based programs.
• Lead 6–7 high-quality programs per day.
• Survey residents to tailor activities and gauge satisfaction.
• Coordinate planning with the program team to assemble calendars and events.
• Build relationships with residents and families to promote participation.
• Document and maintain required records; organize resident council meetings.
• Recruit, coordinate, and oversee a volunteer program.
• Promote programs with notices and posters; arrange space and equipment.
• Facilitate transportation for residents to activities and outings.
