Job summary

Cuhaci Peterson is seeking a Lead Licensed Electrical Project Engineer to lead design and delivery of electrical building systems across commercial, retail, institutional, and mixed-use projects. You will mentor staff, ensure code compliance, and serve as Engineer of Record where assigned.

You will collaborate with Project Managers, architects, and clients to deliver on schedule and budget while advancing engineering solutions and design efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) licence required.
• Minimum 8-10 years of progressive experience in electrical engineering design for building systems.
• Experience serving as Engineer of Record preferred.
• Proficiency in Revit and BIM coordination workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and engineering of electrical building systems, including power distribution, lighting, emergency power, grounding, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems.
• Perform and oversee engineering calculations, load analyses, equipment selection, coordination studies, and system evaluations.
• Develop practical and cost-effective engineering solutions that align with project objectives.
• Exercise independent engineering judgement with minimal supervision.
• Coordinate with internal and external teams to ensure successful project execution.
• Oversee preparation of construction documents and permit submissions.
• Support construction administration activities including submittal reviews and RFIs.
