Job summary

Crosslinked in San Jose, CA is seeking a Senior Engineer, Anode to lead metal anode formulations and SEI engineering for Li‑S battery cells. You will own R&D at a 3D graphene materials company, advancing from bench to pilot scale and collaborating with process teams to enable scalable manufacturing.

The role targets 3+ years of metal anode experience with advanced diagnostics and a PhD/MS/BS pathway, and requires on-site work in San Jose. Relocation options are available for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Doctorate or Master’s with 3+ years in a battery-related field OR Bachelor’s with 5+ years (as stated).
• 3+ years direct experience with metal anode systems (Li-metal/alloy, Na-metal/alloy, Zn-metal/alloy).
• Proven proficiency with alloy/composite synthesis in glovebox and advanced diagnostics (EIS, GITT, CV, SEM, XPS, XRD).

Responsibilities

• Design, synthesize, and optimize metal anode formulations and architectures.
• Test coin cells and pouch cells under dry-room conditions.
• Evaluate plating/stripping, cycle life, and impedance across conditions.
• Characterize interfaces and SEI with SEM/XPS/XRD/EIS and related tech.
• Collaborate to scale lab formulations to pilot production.
• Define QC parameters and DFx guidelines for pilot manufacturing.
