Job summary

Lyten is seeking a Sr Technician - Anode to safely operate processing equipment for lithium metal anode materials used in Li-S batteries. You will work with engineering teams to scale from lab to pilot line and ensure strict quality control.

The role requires hands-on work in gloveboxes/dry rooms, strong safety discipline, and DOE-driven testing to advance new alloy formulations and roll-to-roll concepts.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in any field with 5+ years in R&D or low-volume manufacturing, or 1+ year with significant responsibility in high-volume cell manufacturing.
• Experience with wet chemical synthesis, including safe handling of solvents and reaction monitoring.
• Experience operating processing equipment such as extruders, rolling mills, or furnaces.
• Ability to work in gloveboxes, dry rooms, or cleanrooms with high manual dexterity.
• Proven track record of adhering to safety protocols around hazardous materials.

Responsibilities

• Safely perform wet chemical synthesis to prepare precursors or materials for lithium alloy development.
• Operate and maintain lab and pilot-scale equipment including high-temperature furnaces and extruders.
• Produce high-purity lithium metal anode foils and alloy formulations per engineering specs.
• Assist in scaling lithium metal processing from lab to roll-to-roll pilot manufacturing.
• Execute DOE experiments for fabrication and testing of new anode materials.
• Perform inspections and logging to ensure material consistency and data accuracy.
• Follow SOPs and safety protocols for dry room environments and reactive materials.
