Coreshell Technologies in San Leandro, CA, is seeking a Battery Scientist to lead electrolyte formulation development for silicon-dominant anode cells, combining rigorous electrochemical characterization with accelerated aging studies and computational tools.

You will perform EIS, CV, dQ/dV and chemical analyses (NMR, GCMS, XPS, FTIR, Raman, SEM/TEM) to elucidate interfacial behavior and degradation, while collaborating with R&D and manufacturing to ensure scalable, high-performance formulations.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated excellence in electrolyte R&D for Li-ion batteries and SEI/CEI formation.
• Hands-on electrolyte formulation experience with silicon-dominant anodes preferred.
• Background in electrochemistry and mechanistic organic chemistry.
• Ability to navigate ambiguous early-stage environments and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrolyte formulation development for silicon-dominant anode cells.
• Design and execute DOE-driven cell parameter optimization.
• Develop accelerated aging and stress-testing methods for candidates.
• Perform electrochemical and chemical analyses to relate aging to degradation.
• Conduct auxiliary characterization and build mechanistic understanding.
• Analyse root causes with computational modeling to predict failures.
• Collaborate with R&D, product, commercial, and manufacturing teams.
