Job summary

Oceaneering International seeks a Level III Rope Access Technician to lead field and offshore inspections of piping, pipelines, vessels, and structural components.

The role emphasizes safety, leadership, and hands-on inspection, working offshore and onshore as needed, with travel and training responsibilities.

Candidates must have IRATA III, 2+ years rope access, and a strong safety mindset; MS Office proficiency and TWIC/HUET are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of experience with rope access.
• IRATA Level III certification required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• TWIC, HUET, Safe Gulf Training and passport required.
• ASNT Level II certifications desirable.

Responsibilities

• Inspect offshore structures, vessels, and pipelines for appurtenances per specs using fixed or preset measuring instruments.
• Examine materials for anomalies, damage or defects such as cracks, pits, incomplete welds, holes, dents or excessive corrosion.
• Coordinate with project/operation managers and customers to maintain workflow and satisfaction.
• Take cathodic potential readings using a drop-cell technique.
• Create drawings/sketches to supplement written data.
• Manage inspection and replacement of equipment and other logistics to maintain readiness.
• Travel out-of-town or overseas as needed, sometimes with short notice.
• Provide/on-the-job training, mentoring and assessment of team members offshore.
• Serve as Level III Rope Access Supervisor and carry out project management offshore.
