Job summary

Intuit is seeking a Principal Accountant - Lending to join the Money Movement team, a fast-growing part of the business. The role drives technical accounting and operations for our lending products, including term loans and revolving credit, as Intuit expands accessible financing for SMBs and consumers.

The qualified candidate will own accounting policies, manage close processes, and partner with auditors and business teams to ensure accurate, timely reporting under US GAAP and SOX.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of accounting experience.
• CPA (or equivalent) required.
• Detailed knowledge of US GAAP technical accounting relevant to lending products (ASC 326, ASC 310, ASC 835, ASC 860, ASC 810).
• Big 4 public accounting experience and lending product audits a big plus.
• Experience documenting US GAAP memos with clear conclusions.
• Experience with lending product accounting (term loans, revolving credit); banking/fintech lending a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
• Experience with financial reporting systems (Oracle, BlackLine, Workiva).
• Experience with internal controls (SOX).

Responsibilities

• Research and document technical accounting matters and ensure requirements are applied.
• Partner with Product, Legal, Capital Markets to assess accounting implications before launches.
• Own lending product accounting policies and practices with auditors and stakeholders.
• Assess accounting risk and ensure financial integrity of records.
• Collaborate with FP&A, Treasury, Credit Risk to resolve challenges.
• Deliver clear accounting conclusions to internal and external stakeholders.
• Strengthen lending product internal controls and SOX compliance.
• Oversee month/quarter/year end close for lending products.
• Produce timely financial reporting for internal/external use per US GAAP and SOX.
• Support external audits and control testing.
