Job summary

RR Donnelley is seeking an experienced editor to proofread and polish legal documents, ensuring precise language and impeccable formatting. The role welcomes candidates from English literature, journalism, or professional editing backgrounds and requires a strong eye for detail and familiarity with multiple style guides. Must commute to Phoenix, AZ.

Schedule is Mon–Fri 7:00am–4:00pm with 6 weeks onsite onboarding. After probation, 3 days onsite and 2 days remote.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s in English/Journalism preferred.
• Knowledge of Chicago/AP/Bluebook/CAL Style guides.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and core applications.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
• Ability to handle complex legal document markups under deadlines.
• Ability to prioritize multiple requests and meet deadlines.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Professional interaction with clients and team members.

Responsibilities

• Proofread complex legal documents for consistency, spelling, punctuation, and grammar using appropriate style guides.
• Compare documents word-for-word against originals for accurate conversion.
• Review cross-references and defined terms for accuracy; check Tables of Authorities.
• Check handwritten revisions and electronic redlines against drafts.
• Ensure content is accurate, clear, complete, and logically organized.
• Use proofreading marks to indicate corrections.
• Follow established policies and procedures at all times.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
