Job summary

WEX, Inc. is seeking a Commercial Legal Director for Mobility & Payments to serve as a senior legal partner across the Americas, guiding strategy and execution for complex commercial transactions and product launches.

You will lead a legal team, work with mobility executives, and oversee outside counsel, ensuring risk-appropriate advice and efficient processes throughout the product life cycle.

Qualifications

• J.D. required and licensed in at least one U.S. state.
• Extensive experience navigating complex commercial transactions in payments/financial services.
• Experience leading legal teams and collaborating with cross-functional business units.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic counsel to Mobility business leaders and cross-functional teams across Product, Operations, Risk, Compliance, and Finance.
• Lead, mentor and manage a team of legal professionals; oversee outside counsel.
• Draft, review and negotiate complex commercial agreements including customer credit, card programs, reseller, marketing, referral, and technology contracts.
• Drive due diligence, M&A workstreams, and support RFP responses; optimize contracting processes and templates.
