Job summary

CBL Properties, a leading mall REIT based in Chattanooga, TN, seeks a Legal Collections Analyst to manage escalated collection accounts and coordinate lease enforcement actions. The role involves contacting tenants, negotiating settlements, and collaborating with outside counsel on active matters.

The successful candidate will analyze accounts receivable data, read leases and financial documents, and work with senior leadership to set collection priorities and drive timely resolutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business and/or Accounting or related field(s) preferred.
• A minimum of 4 years related professional experience required.
• Experience in Collections is strongly preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret leases and related financial information is a must.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Yardi.

Responsibilities

• Contact tenants and Guarantors on escalated collection accounts to resolve defaults.
• Manage and direct litigation related to lease enforcement and coordinate evictions when necessary.
• Negotiate settlement of tenant obligations and advise senior management on proposed settlements.
• Analyze accounts receivable data to identify delinquent or high-risk accounts for escalation.
• Participate in monthly meetings to coordinate collection strategies and resolution plans.
