Job summary

DLA Piper is seeking a Case Manager to oversee complex cases and related duties in a hybrid-structured US office. The role requires close collaboration with attorneys, clients, and outside counsel, and involves document preparation, information analysis, and cross-team coordination to ensure high-quality work.

Qualified candidates will have 10+ years as a paralegal in a specific practice, a relevant bachelor’s degree, and may hold California paralegal certification.

Qualifications

• Ten or more years of paralegal experience in a specific practice group.
• Bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies or legal studies is required.
• California Paralegal certification requirements apply for CA offices.
• Must be a strong leader able to supervise attorneys, paralegals and staff.
• Experience setting up and running technical systems to manage matters.

Responsibilities

• Develops and manages budgets for cases and client relationships.
• Supervises case assistants, paralegals, and attorneys; acts as hub for matters.
• Mentors associates and paralegals; conducts trainings for the team.
• Interacts with clients; often the primary point of contact.
• Ensures efficient use of electronic tools to manage cases and relationships.
• Coordinates with outside counsel and vendors; supports budget compliance.
