Job summary

Valero is seeking a Lead LDA Specialist in San Antonio to lead complex leave and disability cases, ensuring compliant, timely decisions. You will advise HR partners, review medical information, and manage coordination with healthcare providers and operations.

The role requires deep knowledge of FMLA, disability programs, and return-to-work practices, with a focus on risk mitigation and employee experience. On-site presence is required at the San Antonio location.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 8 years of advanced experience independently reviewing and determining eligibility for FMLA, STD, and other leave programs.
• Able and willing to work on-site, in-person at the Valero San Antonio location, required.

Responsibilities

• Serves as the primary subject matter expert and consultative resource to Human Resources, business leaders, and leave administration teams on complex leave and disability matters.
• Leads the review and adjudication of complex leave and disability claims with clinical, regulatory, and policy expertise.
• Analyzes medical documentation and claim information to assess eligibility, benefit entitlement, and return-to-work timelines.
