Steel Dynamics, Inc. seeks a full-time Leave & Disability Specialist to lead leave administration under the Benefits Manager and legal department.

You will ensure compliance with FMLA, PWFA, ADA, and related regulations, coordinating with payroll, health services, and legal counsel while supporting divisional admins across the company. You will translate complex legal language into practical guidance, train HR staff, and manage documentation and reporting for regulatory agencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience administering, supporting, or consulting on FMLA, ADA, PWFA, disability and leave management programs.
• Well-versed in federal and state leave laws and employment regulations, including FMLA, PWFA and ADA.
• Strong familiarity with HRIS - UKG preferred, leave management systems, case management software, and Microsoft Office applications.
• PHR or SPHR certification preferred; CLMS or other leave-related certification preferred.

Responsabilités

• Interprets and applies federal, state, and local leave laws including FMLA, ADA, PWFA, and company leave programs.
• Works with HR team, payroll, and occupational health on leave cases and claims.
• Serves as primary contact for divisional administrators regarding leave administration and disability programs.
• Monitors changes in leave laws and recommends policy and process updates.
• Develops training programs for administrators and supervisors on leave policies and accommodations.
