Job summary

Valero is hiring a Lead LDA Specialist in San Antonio. You will serve as the organization's lead SME for complex leave and disability matters, guiding regulatory compliance and business objectives.

You will adjudicate complex claims, analyze medical information, and support timely, compliant outcomes. As a senior expert, you will train HR partners, lead process improvements, and ensure audit-ready documentation across the leave management system.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 8 years of experience reviewing and determining eligibility for FMLA, STD, and other leave programs.
• On-site work requirement at Valero San Antonio.

Responsibilities

• Serve as lead SME and consultative resource to HR on complex leave and disability matters.
• Lead review and adjudication of complex leave and disability claims with regulatory compliance.
• Analyze medical documentation and return-to-work timelines to support decisions.
• Partner with employees, HR, and operations to facilitate return-to-work transitions.
• Identify claim complexities and coordinate with clinical resources for timely resolution.
