Blue Origin is seeking a Leave Specialist to deliver leave of absence, disability, and accommodation services for employees. You will manage complex cases, coordinate with our third-party administrator, and ensure compliance with federal and state leave laws while maintaining strict confidentiality.

This fixed-term role focuses on impacting safe human spaceflight through thoughtful, compliant leave solutions.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or 5+ years benefits experience; 3+ years in leave and disability administration.
Demonstrated expertise in FMLA, ADA/ADAAA, STD/LTD, and state leave programs.
Working knowledge of ERISA, COBRA, ACA, USERRA, Section 125, and related regulations.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS/benefits platforms.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary liaison between Blue Origin, employees, managers, and HRBPs throughout the full leave lifecycle.
Manage complex leave and accommodation cases (FMLA, ADA, state/local) with Matrix/Reliance.
Track leave dates, PTO usage, and pay accuracy in coordination with payroll.
Consult with legal and compliance partners on complex cases and policy development.
Lead group and 1:1 consultations on leave, disability, and accommodation options.
Identify process gaps and drive improvements.
Escalate time-sensitive matters to senior leadership.
Maintain confidentiality of employee medical documentation.
Stay current on federal and state leave/accommodation laws.
