Job summary

Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Inc. is seeking a Senior Accountant to manage lease accounting, revenue recognition, and financial reporting.

The role partners with cross-functional teams across the organization to drive accuracy, process improvements, and strong internal controls. The position supports annual budgets, CAM reconciliations, and external audits, with a focus on GAAP compliance and detailed analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• CPA designation preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience.
• Strong technical accounting skills.
• Public accounting experience preferred.
• Experience with lease accounting and/or commercial real estate preferred.
• Technical accounting research skills are a plus.
• Proficiency in U.S. GAAP and Excel.
• Yardi accounting software experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently while collaborating within a team.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day accounting for Lease Accounting, Administration & Analysis including revenue recognition for leases and monitoring active leases.
• Provide cross-functional financial analysis support with Accounting and Asset Services teams.
• Assist with monthly/quarterly accounting reporting packages for executives and SEC filings (Forms 10-Q, 10-K).
• Contribute to process improvements and strengthen internal controls; support audits.
