GAAP lease revenue, reconciliations, and financial reporting in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will bring strong analytical skills, accounting experience, and knowledge of lease accounting, with opportunities to engage in cross-functional projects and SEC reporting

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong technical U.S. GAAP accounting knowledge and demonstrated accounting research skills.
• Lease accounting experience highly preferred.
• Public accounting experience highly preferred.
• Commercial real estate or other real estate accounting experience preferred.
• CPA or progress toward CPA certification preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Experience analyzing financial results, preparing reconciliations, and researching accounting discrepancies.
• Ability to effectively prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with Accounting, field personnel, senior management, and other internal and external stakeholders.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day lease accounting and reporting activities.
• Account for revenue recognition for new leases, lease amendments, and other lease-related transactions per U.S. GAAP.
• Monitor high-volume portfolio of active leases and support administration.
• Research and analyze technical accounting matters involving complex lease transactions.
• Assist with technical accounting research and lease calculations for acquired leases.
• Monitor lease deliveries and timing of GAAP rent recognition.
• Prepare rental revenue assumptions to support the annual budgeting process.
• Prepare monthly straight-line revenue reconciliations and related analyses.
• Analyze tenant recovery and revenue fluctuations and explain variances.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts to sub-ledgers and schedules.
• Serve as a key accounting partner to Asset Services teams and review lease abstracts related to operating expense recoveries.
• Support CAM reconciliation and inquiries related to lease accounting.
• Assist with monthly/quarterly accounting reporting for SEC filings and management reports.
• Participate in process improvement and special projects.
