Job summary

Crusoe Energy Systems seeks a Senior Accountant, Lease Accounting, to own lease accounting operations end to end. You will analyze each lease, translate terms under ASC 842, and build a repeatable monthly process around it.

You’ll abstract leases in LeaseQuery, post journal entries, and reconcile to GL and AP, while collaborating with Legal, Real Estate, Data Center Development, Procurement, FP&A, and Tax on new deals and amendments.

Qualifications

• Advanced Excel and large data-set handling
• Strong written and verbal communication
• 4–7 years of accounting experience incl. 1–2 years ASC 842 lease accounting
• Experience with complex or non-standard lease agreements
• Experience with lease accounting systems (LeaseQuery preferred)
• CPA or CPA-eligible preferred
• Big 4 or public accounting background or high-growth tech/infrastructure company experience
• Exposure to data center, energy, real estate development, or capital-intensive industries
• Experience with build-to-suit, powered shell, colocation, or ground leases
• Familiarity with ERP systems (NetSuite or Sage Intacct) and SOX controls

Responsibilities

• Own lease accounting operations end to end
• Abstract new leases and process modifications in LeaseQuery
• Post lease journal entries and reconcile to GL and AP
• Partner with Legal, Real Estate, Data Center Development, Procurement, FP&A, Treasury, and Tax
• Support quarterly disclosures, SOX controls, and external audits
• Maintain lease input schedules and amendments
• Maintain complete lease inventory
• Apply ASC 842 to standard and non-standard arrangements
• Prepare lease abstracts and memos for new/modified leases
• Run month-end close for lease-related entries
• Reconcile lease liability and ROU assets to GL and AP
• Document procedures and build scalable intake workflows and automation
