- As the Senior Accountant, Lease Accounting, you’ll own lease accounting operations at Crusoe from end to end. Our lease portfolio reflects a vertically integrated data center business: land, powered shell, build-to-suit, colocation, ground leases, equipment, and energy-related arrangements
- Very few look alike, and no template will do the work for you. You’ll read each agreement, understand the deal behind it, work out how the terms translate under ASC 842, and build a repeatable monthly process around it
- In a typical month, you’ll abstract new leases and process modifications in LeaseQuery, post lease journal entries, reconcile LeaseQuery activity to the general ledger and AP, and partner with Legal, Real Estate, Data Center Development, Procurement, FP&A, and Tax to know about new deals and amendments before they are signed
- You’ll thrive in this role if you’re detail-oriented, energized by non-standard problems, and driven to make the process better every month. You’ll also support quarterly disclosures, SOX controls, and external audit requests, with guidance from Technical Accounting on judgment-heavy items
- LeaseQuery ownership: Own input of new leases and maintain schedules, including modifications, remeasurements, extensions, terminations, and reassessments
- Lease inventory: Keep a complete inventory of executed agreements and amendments
- ASC 842 application: Apply the standard to non-standard arrangements, including lease vs. non-lease components, embedded leases, build-to-suit, variable payments, and option assessments
- Accounting memos: Work with manager to prepare lease abstracts and memos for new and modified leases, with Technical Accounting guidance on judgment-heavy items
- Month-end close: Prepare and post lease journal entries for expense, interest, ROU amortization, and liability entries
- Reconciliations: Reconcile LeaseQuery activity and lease liability and ROU asset balances to the general ledger and AP, and clear variances
- Cross-functional partnership: Work with Legal, Real Estate, Data Center Development, Procurement, FP&A, Treasury, and Tax on lease intake, forecasts, and structuring
- Process improvement: Document procedures and build intake workflows and automation that scale with the business
